Sneak Peek: The Clemy Dress

The Clemy Dress is available now. Shop the Collection.

When we were designing our fall/winter 2019 collection, we knew we wanted to include a “sailor” dress. We love skirts with rows of accent buttons. We also appreciate the look of a smartly paired skirt and blouse.

However, it can be hard to find the right skirt and blouse combination. And when you tuck a shirt into a skirt, there is usually excess fabric at the waist which is a bulky and unflattering look.

Enter … the Clemy! We love this dress because although at first glance it looks like a two-piece ensemble, it’s actually a connected dress. The result is smooth and flattering.

The knee-length Clemy skirt is made out of hunter green stretch twill. It features six wooden buttons on the front panel. The paneled skirt is pencil cut while avoiding being too form-fitting.

The blouse is made out of substantial cotton knit fabric. The knit has a high-quality feel and is non see-through. No layering is required to hide your undergarments, unlike for many other blouses. We love the boatneck detail of the blouse and the elbow length sleeves.

The Clemy is a versatile dress because you can pair it with heels, boots or flats. It is appropriate for work, church, date nights or every day. Personally, we love the Clemy with a pair of brown boots because they compliment the wooden buttons so well.

The Clemy launches in August along with the other dresses from the Rose Collection. Subscribe to our email list to receive the full lookbook before the collection launches.

I hope you will include dresses that are not fitted at the waistline. Not all of us have hourglass shapes. After ten children and seven decades of living my waist is pretty non-existent, but I would like to have some pretty feminine dresses to wear. If it is too late to include such dresses in your upcoming August collection, perhaps you have one or more the next time you introduce new fashions.

Peggy, we will keep that in mind! It is something we keep in mind while designing, but it can be difficult to design dresses for every body type. The way our design process works, it takes nearly a full year to develop a collection, so we appreciate the feedback, but it will not be something you see immediately.

Thank you for reading and responding to my email. I appreciate that bringing out new merchandise is a lengthy process, but I would be so happy to see dresses that are beautiful but do not focus on the waistline. I wish you great success with your August collection.

Beautiful dresses ladies! Congratulations on this much needed business. Do any of the dresses offer ease to nurse a baby?

    1. Paris Bloom says:

Yes! That’s important to us as well. I am a mother of 2 who nurses and it’s very important to me that I can wear our dresses.

We will make sure to highlight the dresses that are nursing and maternity friendly when we launch our store.
